Cookie Policy

JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants Cookies Policy (the “Policy”)

This Policy applies to the websites (the “Sites”) which are run by johnson&Rommers the company, further details about which can be found at,(“we” or “us”).

This Policy seeks to explain how we use cookies and other similar technologies to collect information about the way website users visit the Sites. We use cookies across these Sites to improve its performance and therefore your experience of it. The core role of cookies is to enhance and enable usability or site processes. Cookies also ensure that the Sites are working efficiently and that they perform certain functions properly. JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants uses cookies for a number of purposes which is further explained below.

By accessing the Sites, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy and, save to the extent that you adjust your browser settings to prevent their use, consenting to our use of cookies as explained below. Once you have given consent to our use of cookies, our cookies banner will not be displayed to you again, unless and until we change our cookies and/or this Policy. Please note that we may change the cookies we use and/or otherwise update this Policy from time to time. If we do so, we will flag this in our cookies banner so you are aware there are changes before you proceed to browse the Sites more widely.

The privacy and security of your personal information is very important to us. If you would like learn more about how we protect your privacy, please see our Privacy Policy.

Cookies – what they are, how they work and why we use them

A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier and the site name and some digits and numbers. It allows a website to remember things like your preferences or to maintain state across various webpages.

They take up virtually no space and are there so that our Site can tell that you are the same website user as you move from page to page. These files are either stored in the memory of your computer or other device such as mobile phones or tablet devices which you use to access the Sites.

Cookies help us provide you with a better website experience by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not, they also help us to resolve problems if things go wrong and to understand how users use the Sites.

Session or permanent

Cookies can be “session” based (they only last as long as your visit to the Site), or permanent (they remain between your visits to the Sites, so the Sites recognise your device the next time you visit). Our sites use permanent cookies. We can then build up a better and more useful picture of how repeat visitors use our Sites and what they like and dislike.

Specific information we may collect and why

The cookies which JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants drop on your device allow us to collect details of your visits to our Sites including, but not limited to, traffic data, web logs or other communication data and the resources you access. The information you provide to us will be used for processing transactions but may also be used for internal data processing, such as compiling statistical information about your interests and the use of our Sites. As a service to you, we may also use this information to customise the content we offer on the Sites.

We may collect information personal to you about your computer, including your IP address, operating system and browser type when you visit the Sites. Your IP address is used to help identify and gather statistical or demographic information about our customers generally, for example a UK based user who may prefer English language content, and to allow for tailored advertising. We also use this information for internal system administration to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer our website and the customer or user experience.

How is this information used?

JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants will collect, record, store and use the collected information worldwide for clearly specified purposes including but not limited to:

  • providing you with information, which we believe would interest you in a way that is targeted and relevant;
  • where possible, combining the information with your other personal data which we may hold from to time as explained in our privacy policy; and
  • ensuring that our Sites are presented in the most effective manner for you and your computer.

Tailored advertising.

We also want to use our cookies to help us to better tailor information we provide to you, to try to best suit your preferences. To do so, we may use agents or contractors to help us to serve the cookies and to capture and analyse the information obtained from them on our behalf but where we do so it will be on the basis that these agents/contractors are required to keep the information confidential and secure, and will not use the information for any other purpose than to carry out the services they are performing for Christie’s International Real Estate. Our cookies do not collect information about what other websites you visit or what you browse there.

Unless you are logged in to your online JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants account when our cookies are dropped, JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants cannot identify which customer is browsing the Site from cookie information. JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants may be able identify a Site user as a specific customer where cookies information contains, or is combined with, other details, for example your IP address and/or email address and/or user account details.

We therefore use our cookies to learn what a browser of our Sites seems to like, from what pages the user visits on our Site, for example looking at homes in a specific region. We can then arrange to serve you relevant ads about our sales items, hopefully tailored to what interests you, such as an addition to our homes in that region.

The ads we think you will like most about our sales items will be displayed when you are visiting third party websites online using the same device you used to browse the Site.

We make arrangements with third party advertising network providers (“AdServers”) to show you these ads when you visit certain websites. To do this, we have to let the AdServers know you are the user we know as user No. 1, so when you visit the third party website they show adverts on, they can show you our ads and the ones we hope are of most interest. We do not share any additional details about you with the AdServers, or the third party website providers, to do this.

In addition, JohnsonRommers Investment Consultants does not arrange for any AdServers, or third party website providers, to drop any additional cookies on their behalf. We track customer use on our Site only. If you choose to visit a third party website, it will have its own privacy and cookies policies, which may be different to ours and may mean other cookies are dropped on your device. We recommend that you read the privacy and cookies policies on such third party websites.

Targeting or Advertising.

We sometimes partner with third parties to deliver more relevant advertisements and to compile web statistics. These third parties may use cookies, web beacons and other tracking technology to monitor your visits to both Christie’s and other websites. They monitor your online behaviour and identify website usage, helping advertisers show you advertising and content that is more relevant to you. Some examples of what Targeting and Advertising Cookies do:

  • Provide advertisers with information about your visit to our websites so they can show you advertising that is relevant to you;
  • Limit the number of times you see an advertisement; and
  • Help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign.

Don’t worry – none of these cookies store personally identifiable information like your name and address and we only use trusted advertising partners. Just so you know, these third parties will have their own privacy policies and they may be different from ours.
